Un-Ordinaries

"Ordinary life does not interest me."

Anais Nin
I have spent the past year participating in online classes from a variety of artists. Each one uses different media and each one has their own style. By taking these classes, I have discovered what techniques I enjoy, and which I find frustrating. Which ones speak to my own inner artist and which do not. It's all good and I've thoroughly enjoyed each class.
I have been been a fan of the artwork by Christine Romero since I first discovered her whimsical art long ago. Her style is so very intuitive and her approach is very loose and freeing. Her tutorials have ignited my creative spark in a whole new direction and I feel that I have finally found my muse.

I've created a small gallery of the characters I have done so far; you can find them on my website in The Un-Ordinaries gallery.
Between working on these and the delightful daily exercises by the extra-ordinary Carla Sonheim, for 365 phew! my art supplies never go to waste.

Spring migration is upon us though and the tug of migrant birds and our area flora is too much to resist, and as always, time spent outdoors in the natural world always recharges my batteries. Spring has long been my favorite season, the season where the earth comes back to life and I hope to document much of that life with my art supplies this year, rather than my camera;  but as the saying goes, once a photographer......
